I saw that last remaining kampong
they talked about ,
nestled between two high-speed motorways.
I met the man and his lady,
so happy
to meet someone from those distant kampong days.
We shared the same old aching fear
that it might not survive , thus
simply disappear ; so
we made a wish :
" What wealth , what wealth
it will bring if only such a site
is allowed to remain
to speak its own history !"
